One word to sum it all up! WOW!
That's what I have to come to understand about Skype and love it!
The first time my sister insisted on using it, I kept putting it off having experienced jarring communication disrupts over the voice services offered by various other messengers! I was not ready to experience all over again. Her insistance paid off and I tried it out..... I was hooked, lined and sunk! Amazing voice clarity and and and and and and video too. The best thing is that despite all this the band width utilisation is low low low! And secure too.. 1024 bit encryption!!!
All these days I was dragging my ass to the office to attend the conference calls to the US, which being in INDIA, are a little pain on the wrong side of the butt! Why? They are late night for INDIA! That's why! Had a lil' brainwave and guess what, I have been working from home thru and thru... Skype zindabaad (a lil hindi for hurrah)! Conference calls over the web to phones in the US! Hmm... what will they think of next! The best part.... the conference calls are usually over bridge numbers, meaning they are toll free! What does that relate to me? The calls are for free.... there you go... the magic mantra - FREE - Skype makes those calls without U having to pull out your credit card! From any where in the world! All you need is to ensure is that you are hooked onto a broadband connection and of course, a computer! Voila... I can tell the boss I am working from home permanently.... (as long as he does not find out that it's just an excuse to go out with my PYT :):);))
Skype has an entry in wikipedia which is long enough to put shakespeare to shame... replete with screen shots, analytical information and history! WOW, the Estonians really put themselves on the global map for good! Wicked!
And as usual there are a load of extras and lil' additionals which are not so bad when you check out that they are all free!!!! Magic mantra again! They even have a skype blog! Hmmmm!
