Oaktree Road, NJ to Avenue Road, Bangalore........It ain't too far!

For all those of you who have driven/ridden in Bangalore and have been to the infamous Avenue road & surrounding business roads, you know what an awe inspiring mistake it is to take your precious little car on these roads! NJ's very own "Indianised" road... Oaktree road has pretty much got the same reputation! And don't you dare go there on the weekends!
During the week days the scene is pretty much what you don't want to face! People walking across the road when the traffic is in full flow! Picture this: You are waiting for your turn in the traffic for the right turn signal to turn green. Signal turns green and you are about to start out and a whole family walks across the street right in front of your vehicle! You honk and you get screamed back @, & the old man in the family walking across shows the green signal
to you saying it is their opportunity to walk! WOW! The guy behind you is honking is head off and you are just stuck there waiting for the fantastic family to walk across! Awesome!
Go to the Indian stores... like Patels or Subzi Mandi, pick up your groceries, come out... U are almost certain to find a new scratch/dent on your car! Nope, I am not kidding. Folks here are pretty careless in their driving! It is as if they go back to India and the way they might have been driving back then, when they come to this road! This is something I have seen happening..... A lady driving a red subaru imprezza finished her shopping, put everything in
her car, locked her kid into the seat & backed her car out of the parking, almost ran over a kid, almost banged another car waiting to get into the same parking, almost banged into me waiting behind... freaked out when both me and the other guy honked! And while she was trying to take he car out, she scraped the rear bumper of the blue minivan parked next to her.... and in the process left a red stain edge to edge on the minivan.... all the while pushing the minivan @ least 3-4 feet forward! I have one word for her... WAY 2 GO! (Actually thats three words ;)) Damn..... she bolted from the parking lot in such a tearing hurry, if there was maamu around, he would have suspended her license for sure.... and also gone and suspended the guy who cleared her for driving! Damn again... just like back in the bollywood movies... the cops are never there when something interesting happens! They are out catching some guy trying to rob the liqour store in the next block ;)
Anyways...its no wonder that especially during weekends and indian holidays/festivals there are @ least 2-3 maamu gaadis patrolling the oaktree road and adjacent roads!
I had made up my mind to avoid going 2 oak tree road during the weekends.... lekin kya karen, the really good indian eateries, snacks & sweet shops are all located on this road and someone in the gang wants to go there.... manaa thode hi karsakte hein? Yeah right! Look who is drooling all over!
